Newcastle Early Childhood Center

Faced with an expanding district, Newcastle Public Schools hired Design Architects Plus to manage their 52 million dollar bond issue. As a part of this bond issue, the Early Childhood Center houses approximately 500 students in grades Pre-K through 1st.

The concept was based around a pod design for each grade level. The main entry provides secure access to the building during the day but can be opened up for after hour use of the gym and dining area. The facility also has 4 storm safe-room/classrooms with enough capacity to house all students and faculty in the event of severe weather.
