Design Architects Plus, Inc. has built its reputation on more than three decades of innovation, quality, and client-focused design. Founded in 1994 as FDW Associates, Inc., the firm began as a full-service architectural, engineering, and planning practice dedicated to delivering exceptional design solutions. Initially specializing in educational and financial institutions, FDW Associates quickly earned a reputation for thoughtful planning, technical expertise, and outstanding service.
As the firm grew, so did its experience. The portfolio expanded to include government facilities, automotive dealerships, commercial office buildings, and a wide variety of public and private projects. This diverse expertise strengthened the firm's ability to provide creative, functional, and sustainable design solutions tailored to each client's unique vision.
In January 2004, the firm adopted the name Design Architects Plus, Inc. to better reflect its growth, expanded capabilities, and multidisciplinary approach to design. While the name changed, the mission remained the same—to provide exceptional service, innovative design, and lasting value through every project.
In 2010, Kahle Wilson, AIA, NCARB, became the firm's sole owner, continuing the company's legacy while leading Design Architects Plus into a new era of growth and innovation. Three years later, in 2013, the firm introduced a new logo and website, reinforcing its commitment to a modern brand while honoring its longstanding tradition of design excellence.
Today, Design Architects Plus continues to serve clients across a broad range of project types with the same dedication that has defined the firm since its founding: creating inspired spaces, building lasting relationships, and delivering excellence by design.

As President and Principal Architect of Design Architects Plus, he leads the firm with a vision that balances creative design, technical expertise, and practical solutions to deliver lasting value for every client.
Throughout his career, Kahle has successfully directed more than 600 architectural projects across the educational, commercial, government, civic, and institutional sectors. His diverse portfolio reflects a deep understanding of how thoughtful design can enhance the way people live, work, learn, and interact with their communities.
Kahle's design philosophy centers on creating spaces that are functional, sustainable, and visually compelling. He believes every project should reflect the client's vision while responding to its unique environment, budget, and long-term goals. His collaborative leadership style fosters strong partnerships with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring each project is delivered with precision, integrity, and attention to detail.

When the project is finished, it is our intent to have delivered a project that reflects the design goals and expectations of the Owner, not Design Architects Plus.

Our team aims to reduce energy consumption and regulate emissions without impacting your comfort. Our designs endeavor to create intelligent buildings that use conventional forms of environmental design to provide as much natural energy savings as possible.
